Gasification is a thermo-chemical reaction in which there is a rapid heating of the input material without access of oxygen, thus occur on the carbon chains, and thus a solid state starting material is converted to gas. The resulting gas is then used as fuel for propulsion engines in cogeneration units, which can be combined to produce electricity and process heat.

Heat produced as a by-product of electricity can be sold for further thermal use or for any other project where the steam or hot water could be used.
